| Well, nothing exciting since my last blog. I miss thanksgiving; turkey, pecan pie, haid's mashed potatoes, and eggnog. YUM... OH... went to Bali during Christmas with family, close relatives and friends; mostly aunties and uncles, 6 kids between 10 to 19 yrs old. So, yeah..... no outdoor activity!!! We spend too much time SHOPPING!! I did one fun thing, pose with a turtle.. so CUTE and ate this huge roast PIG, look really gross but its ssoooo good!! I think Katie will drool over this, but without the head though...
New Year's eve, eat and eat.. here's the pics:

| so far, the flood warning is over. praise God i didn't have to go thru it. my uncle warned that we'll get it every 5 years. so i was prepared and stock up with instant noodles, canned food, plenty of waters, cookies n chocolates (just in case i got bored), candles, flashlight, books and batteries for my mp3. the 1st day it flooded other area, my uncle in jakarta passed away. he had suffered alzheimer for quite some time. so that day we spend the whole day for the burial service. first everyone was late, then the driver's couldn't be there because his home got flooded, we have to find another driver. later we got stuck in the traffic for hours because many highways got flooded. some guys who couldn't hold it anymore and embarrasedly release it at the side of the road. i wish i'm a man at that moment, me and my aunt was so miserable . wish i had my camera with me, so i could take some pictures for you all, how helpless we are when natural disaster strikes.... its saddening | | |
| here's the detail: on my 3rd day in medan, i received a phone call from a grandma who talked me around on how she only wanted me to meet his youngest son and blah blah.... i'm not quite sure what she talk about afterwards, but i agreed to meet, out of courtesy. apparently she knows about me from my 3rd aunt, the nosiest one. and fyi, it's a grandma, so how could i say 'NO' the next day, my 3rd aunt invited me for a brunch, aka 'dim-sum'. my gugu (dad's sister), the one i stayed with, agreed to it w/o asking me. she thought that it would just be a brunch, and chit chat. unfortunately it turned out to be the meeting, where my 3rd aunt came to pick us up with the parents and the dude. i was so mad, the whole picking up arrangement was so sneaky and awkward. my gugu eventually told them to go ahead, and that we'll meet up there. thank God for my gugu!!! during the eating, grandma talks the whole time, so i can focus on eating . towards the end of the meeting session, the grandpa ask whether they can have my contact number. bleh, i even forgot to take a good look at the guy coz he is so quiet, and we kinda forgot to include him in the conversation. my gugu did made a small talk with the guy, and that's about all. FYI, this is a typical traditional match making, chinese style. the next funny thing is how my whole relatives from my dad's side came over on the weekend and interrogated me on whether i like the guy or not. ha ha... what on earth???? my 2nd and 3rd aunt was so anxious to know how i feel, but i told them i dunno. i wanna keep them hanging..ha..ha... it was a good reunion. i haven't see them for 14 years and it was a really fun to see them fussing over nothing. the highlight of my break there was hanging out with my gugu and my cousins. we had so much fun even though i only had less than a month to get to know them. they are 15 and 19 years old, the coolest cousins. | | |
